After a construction period of more than a year, the ultramodern cleanroom and laboratory facilities at the Allmersbach im Tal site has now gone into operation. The centerpiece of the new building complex are ten ISO Class 8 cleanrooms. With the expansion of the existing test room facilities, Harro Höfliger responded to customer wishes, explains Stefan Mayer, Senior Director Processes Services: “Our customers are demanding more and more trials with their own active ingredients or with climate-sensitive products on machines designed by Harro Höfliger. After all, such a system is a big investment. We want to provide all of our customers with the assurance that ultimately everything works just as it should.“ A total cleanroom capacity of 500 square meters now offers perfect conditions for testing original active products with an optimum of practical relevance, and for carrying out machine acceptance tests (FAT).
Three of the cleanrooms are designed in such a way that even certain highly effective substances up to a hazard potential of OEB 5 can be processed. Furthermore, a new laboratory with an area of 60 square meters was installed. The expansion from four to ten cleanrooms was implemented in several construction phases, in order to keep operation procedures on track without major interruptions. The new complex also offers space for offices and rooms for the entire Process Services division consisting of Engineering & Innovation Services, Device Services, Pharma Services and Validation Services.
