As of February, Harro Höfliger Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH is operating with a supervisory board. Its chairman will be the company founder Harro Höfliger, who will resign from his function as senior managing director just like his longtime partner Manfred Reiser. The board is completed by Siegfried Drost, managing director at Uhlmann Pac-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG, and Hartmut Jenner, chairman of the executive board of Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG.
For the management, composed of Thomas Weller, Markus Höfliger, Uwe Amann, Peter Claußnitzer and Heinrich Havenstein, the implementation of a supervisory board is a significant step in making the company structure even more effective. “This is not about technology and products for us – those are our key strengths. This is about the planning, structuring and securing of the right strategies, particularly in view of our steady growth and complex challenges such as digitization and a lack of skilled personnel,” explains CEO Thomas Weller.
With Siegfried Drost from Uhlmann, a longtime cooperative partner at Excellence United, and Hartmut Jenner, CEO at Kärcher, the company was pleased to gain experienced specialists as members of the supervisory board. “Both are accustomed to directing international companies in respect to the market, organization and finances,” says Thomas Weller. “They are bringing the knowledge and critical outside perspective required to scrutinize the company management’s corporate strategy and monitor its implementation.”
The longtime managing director Manfred Reiser, an engineer, has been with the company for decades and contributed substantially to the technical development. He started at Harro Höfliger as a managing partner of design in 1983 and was a member of the company management until 2009. He retired from the company with effect in February, 2018 but will continue to provide assistance with regard to technical issues.
