The drilling equipment on the construction site, which adjoins the existing halls, is clearly visible: Bored piling for the foundation of the new, two-storey building has started. The production and logistics centre in Aspach will grow by around 3,000 square metres. It was opened in 2013 and supplies the main plant in Allmersbach im Tal and the assembly workshops in Backnang and Satteldorf with parts and materials. State-of-the-art machinery enables the CNC production of components for large-volume construction projects. Individual parts are pre-commissioned and then delivered according to the assembly requirements.
"We have decided to expand our centre for parts production and supply to the surrounding assembly plants in order to make this location future-proof in the long term," says Markus Höfliger, CFO at Harro Höfliger. "The fact that we were able to acquire an area in the immediate vicinity of the existing 5,000-square-metre site provides us with ideal conditions for the expansion.
Completion of the building is scheduled for mid 2019.
