Statement of our CEO Thomas Weller on the current COVID-19 situation

COVID-19 poses unprecedented challenges for the health care system, for society as a whole, and for every single one of us. We all need to do our part to reduce and slow down the further spread best possible.  

Being a globally active company, we are very aware of our responsibility to react quickly to the dynamic development, to adapt daily, and to act with great care.

The protection of our employees and business partners takes top priority. At the same time we need to ensure continuity of our business. At Harro Höfliger we continue with the production work, our services and after-sale services to date. Despite restricted conditions and with certain limitations, due to the necessary absence of a number of employees and a slowdown of supplies.

Our internal “Task Force Team” and me review the situation and our actions day by day, so we can react quickly to new requirements. The measures already implemented include:

• Cancellation of all visits, business trips, physical meetings and face-to-face trainings.
• Clear process instructions for people returning from regions at risk.
• Clear process instructions for people having been in direct or indirect contact with a potentially infected person.
• Extensive hygiene measures, e.g. frequent sanitizing on our premises, provision of hand disinfectants, observance of codes of conduct.
• Prevention of gatherings (e.g. cafeteria and social areas closed).
• Spatial and temporal separation of our teams and our operations (working in shifts).
• Shift work and flexible work time models help parents to take care of their children at home while nurseries, kindergardens and schools are closed.
• Mobile working wherever possible, using alternative channels for communication (Skype, MS Teams, etc.).
• Daily monitoring and evaluation of the supply chain and the requirements of the work in progress.

We are determined  to continue our business best possible under the given conditions. All of us at Harro Höfliger go out of our way to cope with this challenging period, and we hope to be able to meet again in person in the not-too-distant future.
