Regional study cooperation for the training of digital data experts.

28.02.2020

In the context of digitalization and Industry 4.0, the analysis and evaluation of data is gaining more and more importance. In order to train two employees specifically for these areas of work, Harro Höfliger cooperates with several regional partner companies and the Digital Business University of Applied Sciences (DBU) in Berlin.

The part-time Bachelor's degree program "Data Science & Business Analytics", which combines online self-study with classroom training at the respective companies and in Berlin, was launched in January. Now the first so-called pop-up campus made a stopover at Harro Höfliger. In addition to joint classes, it offers students the opportunity to exchange experiences and to network. Besides Harro Höfliger, Alfred Kärcher SE & Co. KG from Winnenden, the stoba Holding GmbH & Co. KG from Backnang and Beurer GmbH from Ulm are involved.

Uwe Amann, Managing Director Human Resources at Harro Höfliger, was won over by the combination of the practical study format of the DBU and the regional company group: "Our future digital specialists will gain insights into projects of the participating companies on site and will be able to build a strong network with the other students. In addition, the number of attendance days in Berlin is reduced. Data is one of the most important resources of the future and will play a decisive role in business processes and the competitiveness of companies. That's why we are already investing in the specific training of our employees to become data science experts."
