Projecting of information into the field of view with augmented reality

Information and documents can be projected directly into the field of view.

In order to provide customers with optimal support, even from remote locations, Harro Höfliger uses smart glasses: machine operators can wear these high-tech glasses on site, while a service specialist tracks the wearer's actions in real time from their location.

One important area of application is support for troubleshooting in production or during commissioning. "When searching for the causes of faults, smart glasses make the work of both machine operators and our service people easier," says Luise Räuchle, Product Manager Digital Solutions. "A specialist from Harro Höfliger is connected live during the investigation and interacts as required, for example by pointing out important inspection points or superimposing documents in the field of vision. This way, we can offer fast and professional help."

The principle also works the other way around: customers can follow along remotely when Harro Höfliger's experts are wearing smart glasses, for example during FATs. As Luise Räuchle explains, this is a clear advantage, not only in times of Corona: "Long travel times are eliminated. At the same time, it gives our customers the feeling of being on site.”
